Heartbeat, the sire of the auction stallion Happy Van Den Aard Z, is by the top progenitor Heartbreaker out of Elly. Elly produced several international showjumpers, including Dixon (5*, Jasmin Ranta-Aho), Spetter (4* and 5* level) and Spetter’s full brother, Heartbeat. Under the saddle of Sören Knudsen, Heartbeat ranked 6th in 2006 in the final of the World Championship for five-year-old showjumpers in Lanaken. After this brilliant performance, this duo achieved some good results during international 2* and 3* competitions. From the end of 2011, Torben Frandsen wrote a sequel to the international success story of Heartbeat. Heartbeat sired a series of successful performers from the five-star circuit, such as Main Road (Shane Sweetnam), Albert K (24th at the European Championship in Rotterdam), Jackofhearts (Margie Goldstein-Engle) and Albführens’s Happiness (Steve Guerdat).

Quina Van Den Aard, Happy’s dam, is a daughter of the 5* GP stallion/BWP elite stallion Le Blue Diamond van ’t Ruytershof. Quina’s dam, Quida Van Den Aard, is known as the dam of Wonami Van Den Aard (5*, Olivier Guillon), Ballerina Van Den Aard (1m50 level, Niels Fockaert) and Garfield Van Den Aard (1m45 level, Niels Fockaert). This dam line includes even more showjumpers, such as Hamlet (1m45 level, Niels Fockaert), Galileo (1m40 level, Niels Fockaert) and Antigone Van Den Aard (1m40 level, Niels Fockaert).
