O’Neill VDL’s sire, Harley VDL, had everything to make it happen in the international showjumping world, as a son of Heartbreaker (who 2 years before the birth of Harley ended 4th in the GP of Aachen) and a Carthago mare who successfully performed at 1m50 level. Harley has also made it effective in the arena, up to five-star level, in partnership with the Irish Jessica Kürten. After his successful sports career, he became a supplier of excellent showjumpers, such as Charly Chaplin S (Darragh Kenny and Kerry Mc Cahill), Constable II (Laura Kraut) and Doloris (Santiago Lambre).
Through the veins of Ufonia, the dam of O’Neill VDL, top Holstein performance blood flows in the 1st and 2nd generation, especially from Contender and Landgraf I. Bugia was responsible for Ufonia’s motherhood. She is known as the dam of the approved stallion Champion Shadow and as the granddam of the international performer Nordic van de Fruitkorf.
