PEDIGREE HIGHLIGHTS

BWP Young Horses Auction once again presents a unique collection. What about Scalo van de Oude Heihoef? A son of BWP ambassador Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve out of a full sister to the successful showjumpers Huxx de Muze, Inshallah de Muze, Incroyable de Muze and Jadalco van de Kruishoeve. Do we still need to introduce Tangelo? “Tangelo was a very good horse. He had a super showjumping technique. He could jump extremely and had a super attitude. His descendants usually also have a very good attitude.”, says Roelof Bril, who has ridden Tangelo up to and including international Grand Prix 1m60 level. Tangelo passes on hardness, scope, a lot of quality in the legs and a good character. Moreover, his offspring is easy to ride. Tangelo produced many showjumpers performing at the very highest level, such as Scuderia 1918 Tobago, Darry Lou and Hermelien van de Hooghoeve.

Scalo’s dam, Iona van de Oude Heihoef, is a Nabab de Rêve daughter with whom Tom Dhaeyere realized numerous clear rounds, up to and including 1m35 level. She is known as the dam of the showjumpers Marcos van de Oude Heihoef (1m45 level) and Pily van de Oude Heihoef (1m40 level). Iona is a full sister to brilliant showjumpers, such as Huxx de Muze (5*), Inshallah de Muze (5*), Incroyable de Muze (5*), Jadalco van de Kruishoeve (5*) and James de Muze (3*). Iona also has several half-sisters who jumped very successful, amongst them Heroine de Muze (5*, 1m60 level) and Iphigeneia de Muze (5*, 1m60 level). Iona’s granddam is Narcotique de Muze II, with whom Eric Lamaze played a leading role in the five-star circuit. Narcotique II is by legendary Darco out of the 5* GP showjumper Qerly Chin, who contributed to the fame of BWP dam line 34. Good blood never lies!
