Tinkerbell van de Gerkenberg’s sire is the showjumping phenomenon Asca Z. Both Judy Ann Melchior and her husband Christian Ahlmann have achieved success with Asca in the international 5* circuit. In partnership with Ahlmann, Asca became winner in the Swiss Basel (5*, 1m50), 5th in the GP of Stockholm (5*, 1m55), 8th in the Top 10 Rolex IJRC final in Stockholm (5*, 1m60) and winner of the Nations Cup in Calgary (5*, 1m60). Asca passes on his fighting spirit and a good dose of blood to his descendants. Some Asca descendants from top sport: Armani SL (team silver at the Pan-Am Games in Lima), Bacara d’Archonfosse (who participated at the WEG in Tryon and performed very well at 5* level) and Ascalan (5*, 1m60 level, Max Kühner).
Tinkerbell’s dam, Kaprice van de Gerkenberg, is a daughter of the BWP ambassador Nonstop. Kaprice is a half-sister to Ilusie Q FVD who jumped at international 1m45 level. Kaprice’s granddam, Hertogin, is known as the dam of Chianti H FVD (3*, 1m60 level, Phillip Miller) and as the granddam of Katana ter Damme (1m45 level).
