How often do you get the chance to buy a son of the 5* performer El Barone 111 Z out of an Olympic BWP dam line? This is possible thanks to the BWP Top Stallion Auction. Let’s start with Ugano’s sire, the BWP elite stallion El Barone 111. He was already very promising at a young age. As a six- and seven-year-old he became vice champion of the stallion competition. Since 2021 we can watch the performances of this son of BWP ambassador Emerald van ‘t Ruytershof in the international five-star circuit, under the saddle of Malin Baryard-Johnsson.
Ugano’s granddam, Makima van de Heyveldhoeve, performs at international 1m40 level. She goes back on her dam’s side to Chiquita, the foundation dam of the BWP lineage 17. This dam line includes for instance the two-time winner of an Olympic gold team medal Sapphire (ex-Safari van ’t Merelsnest). “The horses from this line are usually very healthy and stress-resistant and have a lot of scope and blood.”, says Walter Van Bunder, the founder of this lineage.
